With the eighth stage, the tour moves to Puglia, near Foggia.
It starts from Castelnuovo where the surrounding area is full of sulphurous springs that feed the spa. It pass through Lucera to get to San Marco la Catola, a small town in the hinterland of Foggia, a typical medieval village characterized by narrow streets and alleys.
Penultimate fraction. Short stage, the shortest, but definitely important. Prelude to the final judgment on the fate of the race. Two second-class roughness to face and an uphill finish. It starts already uphill, then descends towards the flying finish line of Lucera. The first roughness is placed in Volturino, after 50 kilometers of running: from that moment the athletes will no longer see the plain until after the finish line. In fact, between climbs and descents you will reach the final climb towards San Marco La Catola.
